Path of Ink — Privacy Policy
Path of Ink is a single-player game built to respect your privacy: no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking. This page explains the little data the game does handle, and why.
What the game stores on your device
Your progress and settings are saved locally on your device and can be synchronized across your devices using iCloud:
- Game progress: high scores, daily-streak history, course/star progress, unlocked inks and achievements.
- Settings: sound, haptics, reduced-ink, left-hand, and language preference.
- Your purchase status (whether you own the one-time “Full Unlock”).
This data never leaves your device except to sync with your personal iCloud account or as described below. Deleting the app removes local data, but sync data in iCloud will remain unless managed or cleared through your Apple account settings.
Data shared with Apple and Google
Path of Ink uses first-party platform services. It does not share your data with any other third parties.
- Cloud Sync (CloudKit) — The game uses Apple CloudKit to sync game progress and settings between your iOS and macOS devices. This data is stored in your private iCloud database. The developer has no access to this data, and it is governed by Apple's iCloud privacy policy.
- Leaderboards — When you use the global leaderboards, the game submits your score together with the player identifier provided by Apple Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games Services (Android), so rankings can be displayed. This is governed by Apple’s and Google’s own privacy policies. It is not used to track you or for advertising.
- In-app purchase — The one-time “Full Unlock” is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment details; we only receive confirmation that the purchase succeeded.
What we do NOT do
- No advertising or ad networks.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No collection of your name, email, contacts, location, or device advertising ID.
- No sale or sharing of personal data for marketing.
Children
Path of Ink does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game contains no ads and no data collection beyond what is described above.
Your choices
- You can disable iCloud sync for Path of Ink at any time through your Apple device settings (under your Apple ID > iCloud > Apps Using iCloud).
- You can play without using the leaderboards; scores are submitted only when you use Game Center / Play Games features.
- You can manage or sign out of Game Center / Play Games in your device settings.
- Deleting the app removes all locally stored progress and settings.
